Library Updates

New Logo, New Library Cards

Posted by cmcpherson on

Hints about the new logo have appeared over the past several weeks on Facebook and our website. Now we’re happy to announce that the new logo will be unveiled on Sept. 1 on our new library cards! September is Library Card Sign-up Month, so if you need a card, come and see us. And, if you really like the new and improved library card, we will replace your old card with the new one free of charge in September. The new wallet-sized card will come with a keytag-sized duplicate card.

The new library logo incorporates designs created with local students from Bridging Communities Regional Career and Technical Center. The new logo reflects the wide range of library services, programs and materials. Our Bridging Communities interns and marketing students provided inspiration and expertise for which we are thankful.

The American Library Association Library Card Sign-up Month promotes the important role libraries play in the education and development of children. Studies show children who are read to in the home and who use the library perform better in school and are more likely to continue to use the library as a source of lifetime learning.
